Summary:Career counseling recognizes decision points at which students must be prepared and equipped to decide whether to pursue a job, seek further education and choose some combination of both and be responsible for his decisions. It is designed to give systematic aid, and assist the students in learning about occupations so that they may intelligently plan and prepare for a career. The purpose of the study is to propose a Career Counseling Program for Sorsogon College of Arts and Trades. Specifically, the study sought to find out the answers to the following questions: 1. What are the careeer needs of the students? 2. What program of activities should be organized to meet the student needs? 3. What facilities and personnel support are needed to carry out the activities?The study made use of the descriptive approach to research. It used a questionnaire for determining students' career needs. The main instrument used in this study is the abridged form of the South Dakota Student Needs Assessment Survey (1974). Only those areas pertaining to career development of the students were included in the assessment. The areas were assessing self, values clarification, career decision making, making post high school plans, planning careers and developing career awareness. The survey instrument is composed of 24 items from which the extent of nedd is described as Strong, Moderate and Weak, whereas the degree of satisfaction is described as Not Satisfied, Partiall Satisfied and Fully Satisfied.
