The study aimed to find out the extent to which the objectives have been met, the extent to which the activities and materials contributed to the attainment of the objectives, and to suggest recommendations to improve the program. Seventy-two participants of the Self-Understanding Program from 1984-1986 responded to the evaluation survey. The instrument used in this study was the evaluation questionnaire about the Self-Understanding Program. It included three parts: a) the evaluation of the objectives of the program b) the evaluation of the activities and materials to attain the objectives and, c) the personal testimony of the participants about the program. Mean, frequency and percentage were obtained to determine the extent to which the objectives have been met and the activities and materials that have met the objectives. The results showed that the objectives have been moderately met, and the activities and materials have moderately met their objectives. The respondents gave many positive feedbacks about the program. The strengths and weaknesses of the program were found. Based on the findings the following conclusions were made: 1. The Self-Understanding Program is effective in helping the young adults. 2. The time given for sessions is not enough for the participants to absorb the learning and insights. Based on the findings and conclusions the following recommendations were offered: 1. That the self-understanding program be continued to be offered to the young adults 2. That flexibility in time allotment could be considered for the sessions depending on the felt-needs of the group 3. That the activities and materials which attained higher mean values should be retained and those evaluated lower need to be modified and improved 4. That an advanced program could be designed for those who are interested as a follow-up 5. That a needs assessment could be done before designing the advance program. 6. That at least once every 5 years an evaluation study could be done. 1987-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/1173 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Self-perception Counseling Counseling |
