The study was descriptive in nature and it made use of the survey method in gathering data. For the statistical treatment, ranking and means, percentile scores, t-test, and Pearson Product Moment were employed. Some of the outstanding results of the testing were: 1. The parents' predominant disciplinary attitudes were expectation and affection 2. There is a significant difference in the adolescents' perception of the fathers' and mothers' disciplinary attitudes on conflict and divergence as well as in their self-concepts 3. There is a significant relationship between the adolescents' self-concepts and their perceptions of their fathers' attitudes on rejection and strictness as well as that between adolescents' self-concept and the mothers' attitude on expectation. The researcher recommended that the school counselors of the two institutes studied, disseminate among the parents the results of this study to arouse the parents' interest on how best to discipline their children to the latter's own moral, intellectual, and physical development. 1990-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/1271 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Self-perception in adolescence Adolescent psychology -- Taiwan Discipline of children -- Taiwan Counseling |
