This study was primarily concerned with the formulation of the vision, mission statement, goals and objectives of the Dominican School, Manila. The members of the Board of Trustees, the administrators, the teaching and non-teaching staff and selected parents and alumni of D.S.M. served as respondents of the study. A combination of developmental and descriptive methods of research, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative analyses was used in the study. The variables analyzed included the socio-economic profile of D.S.M. clientele and its immediate community which is Sampaloc, the school profile and the goals and values of the school's stakeholders. The data were gathered through the Socio-Economic Survey Questionnaire, the PAASCU Self-Survey Forms, the Checklist on Educational Goals, the documents embodying the educational philosophy of the Congregation of the Religious Missionaries of St. Dominic, the educational goals of the Catholic Church and the country and various reports provided by some government agencies. Frequencies, percentages and means were used to describe the data statistically. The findings of the study revealed that to be relevant, the mission statement for Dominican School must address the problems of education, poverty and unemployment in Sampaloc. Furthermore, the goals and values analysis identified the priority goals that the mission statement should embody. Participative in approach, the formulation process resulted in statements of vision and mission, goals and objectives for D.S.M. They reflected the educational philosophy and goals of the congregation, as well as, the sixteen priority goals of the D.S.M. stakeholders. The study recommended the future replication of the study may be done by other researchers, to improve the present research and to enrich the literature on mission statement study. 1991-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/1382 Master's Theses English Animo Repository School management and organization Dominican Schools Educational aims and objectives Educational Administration and Supervision
