Summary: | This study is primarily concerned with the reformulation of the superintendent of schools office of the Congregation of the Religious Missionaries of St. Dominic (CRMSD).A descriptive and developmental research design was used. This involved the description, assessment and reformulation of the existing CRMSD superintendent's office using documentary analysis, interview and survey techniques. The data were gathered from 125 respondents classified into three levels: the provincial level administrators, school level administrators and personnel and fiscal services personnel using the survey questionnaire and checklist developed by Franco. The literature review and interview conducted among the respondents provided additional data for the study. The study made use of frequencies and weighted means to determine the extent of the actual and expected performance of the roles and functions of the superintendent's office. Qualitative data about the different organizational dimensions of the superintendent's office were clustered. The conclusion of the study based on the findings was that the performance of the superintendent's office needs improvement on: the implementation of its vision-mission promotion of services for quality education and proper planning and implementation of programs and activities. In consideration of the available resources, both human and non-human, the office is viable to support the its programs and activities.
The office is not functional which is partly due to unclear roles and functions for both the policy making body and the executive body. However, this study has suggested enough roles and functions for each office to promote functionality of the reformulated office. |
