These include the socio-demographic characteristics of selected queridas, the patterns of development of a querida relationship, the perceived characteristics of a querida system, coping mechanisms employed by queridas when faced with problems and, their self perceptions. Twenty selected queridas, who are college educated, belong to middle to upper socioeconomic status, and have been involved or is involved with a married man for at least two years, participated in this study.
