This is a practicum report of the project design for the telephone system of Clarkville Resort and Country Club owned and managed by RN Development Corporation. A plan for a design of a new communication network involved the following steps:1. Conduct a Feasibility Study2. Prepare a Network Design Plan3. Understand the Current Network4. Define the New Network Requirements5. Identify the Geographic Scope6. Calculate Circuit Requirements7. Identify Network Security and Control8. Design Network Configurations9. Determine Network Cost10. Implement the Network Based on personal experience and findings, the trainee concluded that:1. The practicum concept is an effective tool that bridges the gap between theoretical concepts and actual applications.2. It provides the trainee the needed exposure to industry and hands on experience.3. The problem solving skills of trainee is further enhanced.4. It develops the research capability of the trainee.5. It develops discipline and self-confidence that something was accomplished. It was therefore concluded that the project A Design of Telephone Distribution System for Clarkville Resort and Country Club as far as technical study is concerned was able to meet all the requirements in the problem. The author believed that the design is feasible and recommended implementation. Based on the conclusions, the following recommendations are presented: In connection with the practicum concept, duration of practicum hours may be shortened to have more time for documentation. Second, financial support be given to the trainee during the conduct of their practicum. Recommendations on the project are:1. In designing telephone distribution system, additional services such as fax machines, data or computer lines, pay stations and key stations must be taken into considerations.2. The economic or the financial aspect of the project should be given equal emphasis as the technical study.3. Communications wiring should be done in conjunction with the architect's plans prior to the construction of the buildings.4.A documentation of all cabling and hardware should be provided for proper installations/expansions in the future.5. The station wiring or floor distribution layout for each building or establishment should be included in the technical study.6.Load assumptions must be studied carefully in anticipation of future services or expansion.7. The discussion on the wireless local loop should be given emphasis, like network management, base station specification, interconnection and maintenance.8. A comparative study of the commercially available devices or equipment should be presented to guide future planners.9. Network security, maintenance and job scheduling should be part of the study.10. Structured cabling, that is, power and communication lines located in the same conduit should be explored and studied. 1998-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/1956 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Telephone systems Telecommunication lines Telephone lines Communication -- Network analysis Engineering design Systems and Communications Systems Engineering
