This practicum project proposes a construction methodology instrumentation and process control for a cement plant and proper maintenance procedure thereafter. The trainee at the Republic Cement Corporation (RCC) defined the scope of work of a contractor as basis for the contract. The data required and equipment and machine tools needed during construction were enumerated. The contractor produced scheduling set-up. Visual aids such as Gantt chart and bar chart for describing and analyzing sequencing alternatives were used. As RCC representative, the trainee monitored the progress of work and checked if the schedules were followed according to plan. Weekly reports on the status of the project were made. For easier implementation of the instrumentation design, the trainee laid down the basic standard symbols and diagrams on the instrumentation. Any instrumentation design must be consistent with Instrument Society of America (ISA) standard symbols and diagrams. The duties and responsibilities of a practicing Instrumentation Engineer were enumerated. It covered areas in plan design, project implementation and in aspects of maintenance. Safety measures in implementation were also dealt with. The trainee was also assigned in the making and writing of instrumentation of the company after the completion of a project. This mainly tackled the maintenance aspects of the facilities and equipment of the cement plant. The trainee recommended different test equipment for field instrument calibrators, which were used during installation of instruments to determine field instruments accuracy and preciseness. These calibrators can also be used during maintenance schedule. 1998-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/1986 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Systems engineering Maintainability (Engineering) Operations research Cement industries Management and Operations Operational Research Systems and Communications
