Summary:A practicum project completed by the author in the Metals Industry Research and Development Center (MIRDC) is an Occupational Health and Safety Program for the Metalcasting Division of the Center. The project has the objectives of reducing hazard factor, improve employees behavior towards safety and health and increase the company's productivity and profitability.The program also intends to assure the persons involved in metalcasting operation of MIRDC a safe and healthy working conditions. Based on the interviews the actual survey done by the author, specific programs were established and implemented in the division which were designed to protect workers, prevent and control accidents and increase effectiveness of operation.The project as a whole gave the author an extensive knowledge in the metalcasting operations starting from patternmaking up to the quality assured produced casting and it provided him with actual plant exposures, and was able to contribute solution to one of the country's problems: accidents, through this occupational safety and health program.
