Summary: | This study is conducted to provide an alternative solution to pavement repair and maintenance of roads, particularly asphalt pavements. The study, once validated by field performance tests, considerably reduces the construction and maintenance costs of the country's road networks and encourage the effective use of pavement waste. The researcher presents the different stages of investigating reclaimed asphalt pavements as a requisite to recycling, giving due evaluation of the important properties necessary to qualify these materials for construction use. It is expected from the study to obtain recommended mix designs that shall serve as the basis for future pavement repair works using recycled asphalt mixes. As a result, conclusions and recommendations are drawn, hopefully, to be of assistance to Engineers, Designers, Contractors, and other related professions in the maintenance and repair of deteriorated asphalt pavements to achieve a more cost efficient construction repair practice allowing the proper observance of regular maintenance cycles for asphalt networks in the country. |
