Summary: | This paper demonstrates the use of active vision in tracking a moving object without prior knowledge of its path. The system makes use of a Color CCD camera as the eyes which will have two degrees of freedom to move at, in order to track a moving object in a cluttered environment. Two DC motors implemented in a closed loop system using a PID compensation filter are used to achieve fast, accurate and precise movement of the camera. The motor controllers are interfaced with the computer via an interface card with 24 I/O ports. The system makes use of a frame grabber for the vision acquisition. For ease of operation, the user shall be able to control the system using a Windows-registered based software. |
