The need that is being satisfied in this industry is the need to transport passengers or goods by land by using a self-propelled powered by an internal combustion engine. Throughout the world, the automotive industry is looked upon as a key growth industry that creates skilled jobs and provides a manufacturing backbone. With a global turnover of more than $1 trillion and employing some 10 million people, the automotive industry remains one of the worlds largest manufacturing businesses. The medium term prospects for the automotive industry will be shaped largely by three major factors: the current policy, the trend towards globalization and market competition. The survival and growth of the automotive industry is critical. The government, through the BOI, proposed measures (such as the local content requirement) to help boost the industry. Assuming firms are able to manage through the current high and volatile cost of doing business, risks for large companies with foreign tie ups will be relatively lower. Technology still remains to be an important determinant of the quality of the automotive industry. Therefore, it is essential for firms to stay abreast of the latest innovations to meet the markets emerging new needs. Jowil Motor Sales, Inc. corporate vision is to become one of the prominent truck assembler here in the Philippine, in terms of market share, high quality service, safety, affordability and social responsibility. It also aims to seek excellence in its products and services to recognize customer satisfaction as the essence of its mission and to accept responsibility & promote progress. If the proposed strategies are implemented successfully, Jowil Motor Sales, Inc. will be able to realize a dramatic improvement in sales and profitability, thereby enabling it to attain its corporate objectives.
