Description
Summary:Air Cavalier Credit Cooperative (ACCC), at Villamor Air Base, Pasay City is a cooperative engaged in financial services by satisfying the financial needs and wants of its members. It is now under scrutiny and analysis as regard to its vision and corporate objectives, its strategy of attaining these corporate objectives, its opportunities and threats in the environment and, its internal strengths and weaknesses. ACCCs management vision is to be one of the leading strengths and weaknesses. ACCCs management vision is to be one of the leading cooperative in the Air Force and the AFP. To realize this vision, I am proposing two corporate objectives, to achieve growth increase in return on equity of at least 25 percent by the year 2002 and to achieve growth increase in net income by at least 30 percent by the year 2002. To attain corporate objectives needs strategies or plan of actions. These strategies must be based on opportunities, threats, and societal expectations in the external environment and strengths, weaknesses and, personal values of implementors in the internal environment. Using the two frameworks of Mr. Michael Porter, the five competitive forces and competitive advantage, I came up with the generic strategy. I am proposing a focus generic strategy, the strategy of combined overall cost leadership and differentiation and its target is a focusable niche. In this case, the niche is the Philippine Air Force. The observed opportunities for exploitation are: governmental policy to promote cooperativism, presence of C & D market segments, increasing need for credit and consumer services, increasing salaries of AFP personnel, and the government of NGOs and federations to mobilize resources from one cooperative to another. The threats includes: intense rivalry among existing companies in the financial industry and threat of substitute products such as electronic commerce. ACCCs strengths to exploit those opportunities are: presence of benefactors and the increasing membership equity. Its weaknesses includes limited resources and the increasing membership equity. Its weaknesses includes limited resources to expand product line, inadequate dissemination of information to members and, limited information technology capabilities.
