Description
Summary:3rd work. -- This paper investigates the construct validity of the Pasao Self-Concept Rating. The Pasao Self-Concept Rating, consisting of 100 questions, is a scale designed to measure ten constructs. It is hypothesized that the scores gathered by the present study would reflect ten factor structure. The sample of this study was drawn from 40 senior high school students, 18 males and 22 females, of a private university in Cabanatuan City. The students were given the Pasao Self-Concept Rating Scale. To analyze the data, System for Statistical (Systat) computer software was employed to perform the factor analysis.Factor analysis confirmed the hypothesized ten-factor model, however, the factors are distinct from the factors revealed by the study of Pasao in 1985. In this particular study, the factors are (1) goal directedness (2) personal worth (3) not me (4) emotionality (5) accepting attitude (6) peer relations (7) individuality (8) feeling of inadequacy (9) self-confidence and (10) self-image. Through this study, the researchers concluded that the scale contains construct validity.
