Summary: | This thesis is a discussion on the Guerilla movement in Bohol during the Japanese period. The study uses primary sources such as memoir, diaries, letters, public documents, official reports and memoranda. Description and analysis are used to explain the life condition in Bohol during the Japanese period and the resistance movement from the point of view of the people who experienced the Second World War. The descriptive-analytical method is complemented by oral history, where informants, through an interview, narrate what happened during the period. To validate the stories of the informants, they were interviewed repeatedly using the same set of questionnaires. The present study proved that just like in any other provinces in the Philippines, the Boholanos had shared their part in liberating the country from the harness of the Japanese occupation. Through writing pieces of information about local places, a broader understanding of a history will emerge. Thus, creating a general history of the Philippines will be made easy for the future historians. |
