Along with capturing the multidimensionality of pole dancing, the photographic essay will showcase the different styles of pole dancing and the vigorous training it requires. By delving deeper into these subjects’ personal experiences in this genre of dance, it paves the way to further understanding as to why these individuals continue to pole dance despite the stigmas attached to it. Moreover, it will show the community of pole dancing and how it has formed a close knit group of people who all share love for the sport.The photographic essay aims to inform and raise awareness on pole dancing and how it has evolved through time. Because of the stigma attached to pole dancing, the proponents' intention is to shed light on the diversity of pole dancing and its effects on empowering the individual engaged in this activity.
