Social network analysis of X (formerly, Twitter) interactions on climate change
Through the analysis of social interactions on platforms like X (formerly, Twitter), where opinions and information spread rapidly, we explore the dynamics that shape public discussions on climate change. In this study, we construct social networks depicted as graphs, where the nodes represent indiv...

Through the analysis of social interactions on platforms like X (formerly, Twitter), where opinions and information spread rapidly, we explore the dynamics that shape public discussions on climate change. In this study, we construct social networks depicted as graphs, where the nodes represent individual X users and the edges represent their interactions. By calculating various centrality measures for these nodes, we identify key influential users on X who engage in climate change discussions. This study reveals that while influential verified users and general users have varying perspectives, diverse information types, and varied interactions with others on X, they share a common stance on climate change. Moreover, we highlight fundamentally different interaction patterns among the verified and general users. 2024-12-06T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etdb_math/46 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etdb_math/article/1047/viewcontent/2024_Bandong_Floresca_Social_network_analysis_of_X__formerly_Twitter__interactions_on.pdf Mathematics and Statistics Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Social networks Climatic changes Centrality (Graph theory) Social Media |
