Summary:In a university setting, college students form bonds by interacting and socializing with fellow students in groups, particularly through participation in university organizations. In every organization, there has to be a leader who guides and brings out the best in every members’ abilities, all for the excellence of the organization. This study aimed to identify the influence of leadership, specifically transformational leadership, on members’ performance in university organizations as moderated by followership. To test the hypotheses, over 465 undergraduate students were asked to participate in an online survey about transformational leadership, followership, and performance. The results of the data collection indicated that both transformational leadership and followership can predict members’ performance separately, and that a low level of critical thinking can positively moderate the relationship between transformational leadership and members’ performance, while active engagement mediates between these two variables. This research confirms the importance of not only leadership but also followership on the performance of the members and eventually the betterment of the organization.
