Description
Summary:Planning sets the stage for any kind of activity. From simple projects to complicated tasks, the first thing that all individuals in-charge do is to plan. This is also the same case in the field of Information Systems. Thus, Information Systems Strategic Planning comes into play – the proponent aimed to conduct Information System (IS) planning activities for a Government Owned and Controlled Corporation (GOCC) in the Philippines following Cassidy’s framework that is composed of four (4) Phases – Visioning, Analysis, Direction and Recommendation – and incorporating its prescribed tools and methodologies with DICT-MITHI ISSP development framework. The DICT-MITHI ISSP development framework follows a set template and is required to be followed by all Government agencies in the Philippines as mandated by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). Additionally, the proponent targeted to create a three-year plan for the chosen GOCC – Duty Free Philippines Corporation (DFPC) – from assessing its current and target scenarios in business and IS landscape. The proponent was able to successfully work on the two mentioned IS planning framework producing a comprehensive plan for Duty Free Philippines Corporation for the years 2020 – 2022.
