When theater continued to progress, audiences had long been treated as mere spectators. This project problematizes the audience and their dynamic involvement in the storytelling. For they have the capacity to be an instrument of the narrative, they should not just be the recipients of meaning but also as enablers of the action. Theater can be a space for the ones watching to participate with the ones being watched. With the aim to provide encounters for the spectators to interact, this study of interactivity is a collection of three original plays using Astrid Breels’ Audience Agency particularly the level of interaction and participation: a) a one-man act performance with defined moments asking the audience to contribute within; b) a digital play using hyperlinks for audience to navigate and to create responses; and c) an event that acts as a performance requiring audience contribution to be completed. With the nature of immersion, this seeks to find answers on how the playwright will engage the audience to participate in the process. This storytelling recognizes playing a significant role where the platform is used to provide a sense of urgency. It is asking the community to search for their truth, to resolve their questions, and to make them involved. With the recent events happening in the 21st century, audiences cannot just stay watching—it is about time to call for an act, it is about time for some intervention. 2022-01-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etdm_lit/5 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1007&context=etdm_lit Literature Master's Theses English Animo Repository Theater audiences Performing arts—Audiences Theatre and Performance Studies
