الملخص: | This research deals with the physio-chemical analysis and fish survey of Estero Aviles. Water samples from this Estero were collected from four stations (Fifth St., Pumping Station, Buencamino St., and Matienza St.) during the three sampling trials in the morning and another three in the afternoon. The analysis includes the following parameters: water temperature, pH, turbidity, and residue (physical), dissolved oxygen and carbon dioxide (chemical). There was very small difference between average temperature readings in the four stations. Water pH ranged from 6.8-7.2, as observed in the Pumping Station and the Fifth St., respectively. Low pH corresponded to the high carbon dioxide concentration (46.20 ppm in the Pumping Station), while high pH coincided with the low carbon dioxide levels (42.25 ppm). DO was generally low and was even lower with the occurrence of high CO0 concentration & high temperature. |
