Description
Summary:Endomycorrhizal fungus, gigaspora margarita was inoculated on mungbean Vigna radiata, L. Wilzeck using Pinatubo ash and garden soil as media Parameters such as plant height, leaf number and leaf surface area were monitored to determine the effect of fungus on plant growth. Inoculated mungbean showed better growth than uninoculated plants. Garden soil was a better soil medium than Pinatubo ash. However, this study revealed that pure volcanic ash can sustain plant life.
