Description
Summary:The actual flow rate of liquid is determined by the characteristic behavior of the pump used to drive the liquid through the pipeline and the resistance of the pipeline connected to the pump to carry this flow. Graphically, this relationship can be represented by the intersection of a curve representing the pump's characteristic behavior at a given speed, and another representing the resistance of the pipeline, measured in feet or meters of liquid as a function, or how it depends on, fluid flow rate. Furthermore, the actual flow rate depends on the kind to be pumped, the operating speed of the pump, the diameters and lengths of the sections of the pipeline, and the materials used for the different sections of the pipeline.
