Summary:Power utility companies have been providing lighting in areas around the country. The provision of this service includes the cost of the power lines to supply the electricity to the lamps. For remote or inaccessible areas this poses many challenges, including relatively large cost, range limitations and additional equipment. To provide light and a power source in areas outside the grid, it is possible to harness the available energy in the wind by designing and constructing a wind turbine system incorporated into a lamp post that would generate the required electricity to power the lamps. To assure functionality in most areas of target application, the turbine design should function well at low to moderate wind speeds.
