Summary: | As part of the professional mandate of the Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines (ASEP) which was tasked to evaluate, review, approve and/or take final action on changes and/or amendments to existing Referral Codes as well as on the incorporation of other referral codes which are not yet expressly made part of the National Building Code of the Philippines (NBCP) per Presidential Decree No. 1096, series of seminars to provide guidance on the use of the National Structural Code of the Philippines (NSCP) 6th Edition 2010 were conducted its official release in June 2010. This paper is being presented in the series of seminars nationwide and discusses about the wind load provisions of the latest structural code of practice and highlights the calculations of wind forces applied on buildings, towers and other vertical structures. |
