Description
Summary:To find out the current status of the Physical Education faculty in selected universities in Metro Manila, 147 PE teachers were surveyed and eight (8) administrators were interviewed. The findings of this study showed that most of the physical educators are holders of undergraduate education degrees while the remainder have earned at least twelve units in graduate studies. School administrators observed the protocol in recruiting its physical education faculty-personnel and they gave primary consideration to educational qualifications of a prospective teacher. On the average, physical education faculty had had at least five years of teaching experience. A number of them were assigned to teach courses in which they had limited number of physical education journals available in the country, only a few teachers had published articles. Overall, results indicated that PE teachers were either satisfied or moderately satisfied in their respective workplaces.
