Description
Summary:The study is an assessment of the role of socioemotional distress in the school performance of a 14 year old girl who has been referred for therapy and assessment due to behavioral concerns. Self report, social history, interview findings and psychological assessment have indicated risk factors that may lead to psychopathology in the future. The difficulty in delineating adolescent turmoil from psychopathology is illustrated in this case. Thus, the need to determine the difference between these concepts is highlighted. The study further recommends further assessment and psychological interventions that may serve as protective factors in order to understand the development of psychopathology.
