Description
Summary:This study aims to provide a comprehensive assessment on how information technology (IT) is governed and managed in an educational institution, in particular, in De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines. A 167-item CobiT-based validated survey instrument was administered to 58 Accountancy students at the time they were taking the module on Computer Information Systems and to the IT center. Assessment scores were 3.270 and 2.580 for the Accountancy students and the IT center, respectively. The difference between the two maturity scores was statistically significant at an alpha of .05. To substantiate this finding, the per-domain scores of the assessments were compared at an alpha of .05. Of the four domains, two were significantly different. Implications and conclusions were drawn and recommendations were formulated to narrow the gaps in the two domains and to improve the University's overall IT maturity score.
