Summary: | Kalakbay Lasalyano Formation and Accompaniment Program is an offshoot of the Gabay Lasalyano with a special focus on the formative processes involved in enabling the scholars to acquire attitudes/dispositions that will sustain their quest for excellence and self-improvement so that they can be of great service to the society, especially the poor and vulnerable. In this program, the concept of formation is treated as a process of developing values from within the particular personal experiences of the scholars. Thus, it is more focused on allowing values, especially grateful attitudes/dispositions, to emerge from the scholars' personal human endeavors and activities, rather than forcing them by explicit moralizing. Moreover, this program aims to journey with the scholars towards seeing and experiencing their reality in the light of their faith in God. It is in fact a formative experience that involves assistance to the scholars' inner journey of searching for the ultimate purpose and meaning of life. However, the spiritual component of the program is not primarily focused on the doctrinal aspect of their faith development. It is more concerned with the warp and woof of the broader understanding of spirituality that points to the fundamental human quest for integration of mind, body, and soul. This formation program will also engage scholars in formative experiences that will enable them to express their understanding of "where they are," and motivate them to go the extra mile to serve. It will also provide scholars with opportunities that to be in communion with others who are on the same journey. Through this program, scholars will be helped in the process of becoming constantly aware that they are not alone in their journey towards the building of and realization of their hopes and dreams; moving them to deeply appreciate, value, celebrate and share their gifts and blessings from the Lord. It is also expected that this program will facilitate scholars' formation towards becoming exemplars of enacted responsibility; young people who possess a heart that is genuinely generous in the service of the Filipino people; and heart that is forever grateful to the God who provides. |
