Tuazon, John Byron In a high velocity environment such as healthcare, technological innovations assume a critical role in enabling organizations to achieve their strategic goals. Recent developments in the healthcare landscape underpins the importance of information systems to revolutionize the way economies deliver better health services to the citizenship. Existing scholarship on healthcare information systems adoption are largely based on developed countries which necessitates studies that capture perspectives from developed economies. In this paper, we present the results of a study conducted in three private hospitals in a developing economy that identified the enablers of healthcare information systems adoption through the theoretical lens of the technology- organization-environment framework. Qualitative data from focused group discussions and documents were analyzed and reveal that dimensions from technology (paperless features, IS integration), organization (financial resources and leadership support) and environment (technology availability, vendor support, regulatory compliance) are enablers of healthcare information systems adoption. 2019-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/faculty_research/12500 Faculty Research Work Animo Repository Information storage and retrieval systems—Medical care Health Information Technology Management Information Systems |
