The full paper is a continuum of the study entitled “A study on Christian librarians and the integration of their faith in the profession” by one of the authors as his undergraduate thesis. The study primarily investigated the existence of Christian librarianship in the Philippines. Objectives. The paper seeks to report the findings of the study to promote and give contextualization of Christian librarianship to the LIS community, particularly in the Philippine context where it is relatively unknown due to the lack of resources and even common knowledge of the concept. It is also the intent of this paper to make awareness and appreciation of Christian Librarianship to open an initiative to its institutionalization which leads to the expansion and development of its role not only in the LIS practice and profession but also in the society in general. Methods. The paper recapitulates the information gathered and synthesized by the study about Christian librarianship to provide the LIS community with as much understanding of the concept as the study had obtained. It also brings into play the fishbone analysis used by the study that illustrates where the Christian worldview is present in librarianship and the contextualization and localization of Christian Librarianship. Results. The paper reports the major findings of the study which shows that the practice of Christian librarianship exists in the Philippines despite librarians being unaware of the concept. Contributions. The study merely established the existence of Christian librarianship as a concept within LIS, specifically in the Philippines. However, upon establishing its existence, opens a window to a relatively unexplored area of knowledge within the LIS profession. The study’s findings provided a new lens to which the LIS practice may be viewed. The paper reports a gap in the LIS profession and calls for the LIS community to conduct further studies for the development of Christian librarianship, and on the other hand, Christianity as well. 2017-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/faculty_research/12554 Faculty Research Work Animo Repository Christian librarians—Philippines Library and Information Science
