From mid-90s, many Asia Pacific governments have taken steps in investigating eco-industrial development (EID) applications in their local economy. Japan, being the lead implementers, has 23 eco-town projects now in place with strong government subsidy. China, on the other hand, is now fast catching up with nearly a hundred initiatives nationwide. This paper exhibits the current trend and future of this industrial ecology field application in Asia Pacific, by presenting models where each sub-region likely behaves. The author argues that value-adding strategy is the differentiating factor in the future success of selected implementing governments. 2005-09-01T07:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/faculty_research/13126 Faculty Research Work Animo Repository Industrial ecology--Pacific Area Industrialization--Pacific Area Sustainable development--Pacific Area Environmental Engineering Industrial Engineering |
