Description
Summary:The problem addressed in this research is the building of a testbed to evaluate the performance of adaptive load balancing algorithms. The testbed is written using SIMSCRIPT 11,5 (PC version) which stimulates the behavior of load balancing algorithms on various network topologies. Inut parameters are defined by the user and performances of the load balancing algorithms are measured using several criteria. Implementation aspects of the testbed are discussed and to illustrate the usefulness of the testbed as a tool for investigating load balancing algorithms, three unknown algorithms (bidding, drafting and probabilistic) were simulated on the testbed.
