Since then, research framework in computer architecture has been established with emphasis on simulation of different computer architecture concepts. One of the concepts, which have generated a lot of excitement, is the topic on pipelining. Our research group had already developed a pipeline simulator based on the DLX architecture called DARC [1]. The simulator was used as a supplementary tool for both undergraduate and graduate students. It was received favorably and at the same time, they gave feedbacks and suggestions on improving the simulator. With those suggestions, DARC2, the 2nd generation pipeline simulator based on DLX architecture was developed.
