In 2009, the Philippines experienced the effect of climate change when typhoon Ketsana struck severely flooding Metro Manila. During this disaster, many people died from drowning and much was lost in terms of properties and resources. The effects of the typhoon did not discriminate anybody. Rich and poor alike were devastated in the same manner.
