Transpacific Broadcast Group, Inc. (TBGI) was incorporated in July 1995. On July 10, 1995. TBGI signed a twenty-five (25) year lease agreement with Clark Development Corporation (CDC) to strategically locate and operate a satellite service transmission and broadcast facility in Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ), Pampanga, with the option for another twenty-five (25) renewal. The company commenced operations of its commercial satellite up-link facility within CSEZ in February 1996, by servicing the up-link requirements of a major Philippine broadcaster, Vintage Television/IBC-13. TBGI transmits VTV/IBC-13's broadcast feed from Metro-Manila to Channel 13's nationwide network of provincial stations and affiliates (both terrestrial and cable based) via satellite. Under the terms and conditions of the lease agreement, TBGI is a duly registered, tax exempt CSEZ Company with all the attendant tax privilege incentives and benefits accorded a locator and investor. Also in February 1996, the company signed a Transponder Lease Agreement with APT Satellite Company, Ltd., which took effect June 1996. The satellite uplink service being provided by the company to Vintage Television/IBC-13 using a Digicipher II Multi Channel per Carrier (MCPC) Digital Encoder System acquired from General Instrument, the latest version of the General Instrument system. It can service up to six (6) clients. The integration of this system gives TBGI the distinction of having the most advanced facility of its kind in the Philippines. The TBGI facility is located along Chico Street, CSEZ, Pampanga. The leased area of TBGI is the former site of the Satellite Communications Facility of the United States Air Force. The site was specifically chosen for its natural radio frequency shielding quality, making it ideal for satellite communications. The company is currently engaged in the business of providing satellite transmission and related broadcast services to Solar Entertainment Network Incorporated, IBC Channel 13, RPN Channel 9, ABC Channel 5 and three Korean Channels. The company also provides other telecommunication services tailored to meet the specific needs of each client. The company's scope of services include the following: Satellite up-link with transponder resale, Satellite up-link without transponder resale, Program origination, Customer-premised equipment and co-location.
