Students' attitude towards diversity - Challenges of managing innovation in business education

Past studies showed that diversity enhances the students’ education experience. However, diversity may have negative or neutral effects, too. In higher education, diversity is characterized by student diversity and institutional diversity. The former is closely linked to socioeconomic and ethnic diversity. Cultural diversity focuses on ethnicity. A favorable attitude towards cultural diversity prepares students to participate in global workplace communities. Business schools recognized the need of enabling students to succeed globally by pursuing innovative learning approaches in classroom and off-classroom environments. This paper examined critical aspects of business school students’ attitudes towards workplace diversity as inputs to the university’s innovation program in Asian developing country context.
