The Center for Social Concern and Action (COSCA) of De La Salle University (DLSU) has been spearheading school-initiated community projects and school-community joint projects through COSCA’s national service training program- civic welfare training service (NSTP-CWTS). This paper aimed to identify the empowerment mechanisms to CWTS partner organizations (POs) starting academic year 2014-2015. The empowerment mechanism addressed the common weaknesses of the CWTS POs identified by its stakeholders through organizational development interventions. A criteria was applied for two consecutive academic years and would be incorporated in the CWTS course in term 2 until term 3. The empowerment mechanisms would be helpful during the AY 2016-2018 when CWTS’ community projects might be suspended due to the effect of K-12 program. This paper would also respond to the recommendations of the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) during their visit last February 18-19, 2013 (see attached 2013 PAASCU recommendations). The empowerment mechanisms would also serve as a model for other Lasallian institutions which could be showcased during benchmarking activities. In the long run when the CWTS POs decided to end their partnership, the mechanisms would ensure the sustainability of DLSU’s community projects. 2014-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/faculty_research/5829 Faculty Research Work Animo Repository Service learning Community-Based Learning |
