Career indecision and career decision-making self-efficacy of Filipino senior high school students

The present study aims to investigate the connection between career indecision and self-efficacy on the career decision-making of Filipino senior high school students. Using descriptive correlational research design, 221 senior high school students (106 female, 115 male) participated in the study. Career decision difficulties questionnaire (CDDQ) and Career decision-making self-efficacy-short form scale (CDMSE-SF) were administered to the above participants. Results indicated that career indecision has significant negative relationship to career decision-making self-efficacy (r=-0.32). the study also concluded that there is no significant difference in the level of career indecision of Filipino senior high school students when grouped according to sex, grade level, and academic strand. There is also no significant difference in the level of career decision-making self-efficacy when classified according to grade level except for sex and academic strand. Implications to career counseling and career development are forwarded.
