Summary: | Case Studies on the Enhanced School Improvement Plan (E-SIP) Process: Phase 2 Technical Report provides analysis of research findings on the implementation of the Enhanced School Improvement Plan (E-SIP) Process in six (6) Department of Education (DepED) schools; namely, Pres. Carlos P. Garcia Memorial High School (Division of Bohol), Pugad Lawin High School (Division of Quezon City), Ortega Integrated School (Division of Aklan), Pambujan National High School (Division of Northern Samar), Camarines Sur National High School (Division of Naga City), and Tambo Central School (Division of Iligan City).
Data analysis was done using three (3) methods. First, the E-SIP Survey was a self-rating on the perceptions and experiences of the participants on the following components in the implementation on the E-SIP process: (i) knowledge of the E-SIP process, (ii) extent of participation of stakeholders (iii) capacity to implement the E-SIP process, (iv) extent of Division assistance and (v) sustainability of the E-SIP process. Second, the E-SIP Rubrics Assessment was an external rating on the degree of (i) preparedness, (ii) project implementation, (iii) participation of stakeholders and (iv) project responsiveness in the implementation of the E-SIP. And third, case studies on the implementation of the E-SIP process were written based on qualitative data gathered from three (3) of the six (6) of the participating schools in this research.
Pres. Carlos P. Garcia Memorial High School (PCPGMHS), Division of Bohol. On the E-SIP Survey, PCPGMHS gave the highest rating to the Level of Stakeholder Engagement and the lowest to Division Assistance. On the E-SIP Rubrics Assessment, the school got the highest rating in three (3) criteria: Preparedness, project implementation and project responsiveness. It rated slightly lower in the criterion of participation of stakeholders in implementation.
Pugad Lawin High School (PLHS), Division of Quezon City, on the E-SIP survey, PLHS gave highest rating to sustainability of the E-SIP process and the lowest rating to Division Assistance. On the E-SIP Rubrics Assessment, the school got the highest rating on project responsiveness and a low rating on preparedness. A case study on the implementation of the E-SIP in PLHS was written for this phase of the research.
Ortega Integrated School (OIS), Division of Aklan. On the E-SIP survey, OIS gave the highest rating to level of stakeholder engagement and the lowest rating to division assistance. On the E-SIP rubrics assessment, the school got the highest rating on project responsiveness and the lowest rating on project implementation.
Pambujan National High School (PNHS), Division of Northern Samar. On the E-SIP survey, PNHS rated equally high in all criteria in the implementation of the E-SIP: knowledge of the process, level of stakeholder engagement, capacity to implement, division assistance, and sustainability. On the E-SIP rubrics assessment, the school got the highest rating in project responsiveness and the lowest rating, although still high, in project implementation. A case study on the implementation of the E-SIP in PNHS was written for this phase of the research.
Camarines Sur National High School (CSNHS), Division of Naga City. On the E-SIP survey, CSNHS gave the highest rating to knowledge of the process and the lowest rating to division assistance. On the E-SIP rubrics assessment, the school got the highest rating in preparedness and the lowest rating in project responsiveness. A case study on the implementation of the E-SIP in CSNHS was written for this phase of the research.
Tambo Central School (TCS), Division of Iligan City. On the E-SIP survey, TCS gave the highest rating to knowledge of the process and the lowest rating to capacity to implement. On the E-SIP rubrics assessment, the school got the highest rating in prepareness and the lowest rating in participation of stakeholders.
Following data analysis, best practices and opportunities for improvement in the implementation of the E-SIP were presented on two levels - on the level of the divisions and on the level of the schools. The technical report ends with a conclusion and recommendation on the implementation of the E-SIP based on the findings of this research. |
