Summary:The Network of CALABARZON Educational Institution Library Committee (NOCEILC) collaborative resource sharing started in 1998 with nineteen (19) institution members from the province of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Quezon. This study aims to find out the different types of collaborative practices of NOCEILC. Survey research and interview method were used to find out the different types of collaborative practices the member libraries engage in and their level of satisfaction with these resource sharing activities. This paper also attempts to find out the hindrances that confront the member libraries in their resource sharing efforts as well as the potential solutions to these issues. Results show that resource sharing is desirable among NOCEI member libraries; they share resources among themselves; and most member libraries shared resources often. Admittance with 17 (100%) response is considered the best mode to attend to the information needs of the researcher while e-document delivery got 0 response because this form has not yet been offered although, contained within the resource sharing policy. Member libraries largely share print materials such as books, journals and theses and dissertations. Cooperative resource sharing ventures include library indexing project for undergraduate/graduate theses and institutional journals; book donation project; seminar training; and, lakbay-aral or library benchmarking. Large percentage (82.35%) expressed that they are “satisfied” with the resource sharing activities. Factors hindering the performance of resource sharing were identified and several ways/solutions were proposed. The result of the study will help propose a framework for the purpose of initiating new collaborative system on resource sharing.
