Today's appreciation of the role of sport psychologist thrives in the area of elite and non elite athletes of the Philippines. Even though there are available training methods, easy access to the best facilities and provision of nutritional diet, oftentimes does not sufficiently mold the quality of a winning athletes. To qualify as elite athlete participants, one must represent a rare combination of talent, handwork and psychological preparedness. The ingredients of Olympic athletes can be combined with skills, mindset, attitudes and exposure to several competitions. Researches linked mental skill and personality attributes are combining factors of athletic proficiency. In this study there are 137 elite and 259 non-elite athletes who played in 32 different sport local and international games. The age is ranging from 13-35 years old, elite are full-time while non-elite are students. Result shows a higher correlation between intelligence Quotient (IQ) and mental toughness (MT) among elite (x=l 8.64, sd=4.86) and non-lite (x=16.4;sd=6.07) athletics.
