Description
Summary:This paper discusses the conversion of sugarcane bagasse to renewable semi-liquid fuel. Oil was extracted from sugarcane bagasse using direct thermochemical liquefaction without using reducing gas. Alkali catalysts and water were mixed with powdered bagasse to attain a satisfactory yield. Results showed that a decreasing liquefaction temperature from 573 K to 473 K increases oil yields. Furthermore, 99% product conversion was attained at a reaction temperature of 523 K.
