As an innovative approach to matrials development, cross-disciplinary articulation benefits instructional planning and teaching and fosters a good working relationship between content area and language teachers. The article shows how collaboration was applied to a language class in a secondary school. It also introduces a theoretical framework that provides a basis for the application of collaboration and steps taken for needs analysis, the rewards of the interconnection, and the practical considerations that the approach necessitates.
