Summary:Larval survey of dengue vectors conducted in Barangay 674, "Estero de Tanque", Paco, Manila showed that Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus were present in the area. Aedes mosquitoes bred in fresh water plant vases, drums, empty washing machine, plastic container, and used automobile tire. A. aegypti bred in both indoor and outdoor containers while A. albopictus were found in outdoor containers only. A. aegypti predominantly bred in "Estero de Tanque". The House Index, Container Index and Breteau Index were as follows: HI = 9%, CI=2.94, BI=9. Findings showed that the area is sensitive for transmission of dengue and a possibility of an outbreak could occur in "Estero de Tanque" if no mosquito surveillance and control would be implemented in the area.
