Summary: | The Student Discipline and Formation Office (SDFO) through the Discipline Education, Advocacy and Programs Section believe that a values clarification program is an integral part of every educational institution. Specifically, students who violate University discipline policies, rules and regulations should be given opportunities to clarify certain values to enable them to successfully adjust and become conscientious and self-disciplined students of the University-and responsible members of the society as a whole. To make the program holistic, a collaborative partnership between the SDFO and Lasallian Mission offices had been established to assist the VCDP participants to positively develop the behavior expected to them as Lasallians. Needs of the participants were gathered from the SDFO's suggestions and from the goals and objectives of the VCDP. In response, a Lasallian Reflection Framework (2011) and Lasallian Guiding Principles (2009), as its framework, activity entitled "Lasallian Formation Session" was facilitated to address the needs and concerns of the participants. The evaluation results of the activity revealed that students really appreciated the life story of St. John Baptist de La Salle and it's implication in making decision and clarifying their own values. This activity may be facilitated for he succeeding Lasallian Formation Session of the Values Clarification and Development Program. |
