Description
Summary:Many young adults experience difficulties in their transition from high school to college due to lack of knowledge and preparation in making career decision. Often, students were faced with high level of stress and disquiet due to the pressure brought by failure to make sound career choices. Career indecision was defined as an inability to make a decision or choice about the vocation one wishes to pursue in his life. This state hasa big impact on the student's university life and future profession. Literature have shown the efficacy of group counseling in addressing career indecision since members of the group can contribute in the formulation of solutions to difficult situations and serve as a support network at the same time. This conceptual paper attempts to explore the Philippine National Standards for School Counseling Programs as the framework and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as the treatment approach on developing a group counseling intervention program in addressing career indecision.
