According to a gender equality study by the Asian Development Bank (2013), women in the Philippines experience gender inequality in several key areas: labor force participation, human capital, unpaid domestic and care work burden, vulnerable employment, wage employment, decent work, and social protection. Since the Philippines has a family- oriented culture, women often quit work after getting married or having children, particularly during the typical childbearing ages of 25 to 29 (World Economic Forum, 2019).
