This talk focuses on the significant role of health systems to mitigate the impact of the stark differences in health status observed at the population level. The roles of leaders in the health sector to work on structural and systemic reforms to address the root cause of inequities that create different exposures and vulnerabilities to illnesses will also be discussed. -- Dr. Norman Dennis E. Marquez is the Ateneo de Manila University Physician. He is the Associate Director of the Health Sciences Program, School of Science and Engineering and the Learning Experiences in Communities (LEC) Coordinator of the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health.
