Description
Summary:According to the statistics of the world population, Christian and Muslim communities make up the highest percentage of religious followers. Approximately 2.38 billion people practice Christianity globally. This means that about one-third of the world's total population is Christian. On the other side, Muslims comprise more than 2 billion people worldwide; making Islam the second-largest religion in the world, exceeded only by Christianity. By learning about these figures, one may be interested in knowing more about these two Abrahamic and revealed religions. The truth is that Islam was established in the 7th AD. The existing Christian community found it important to respond to the emergence of the Islamic religion. It did so on the basis of an already well-established tradition that focused on the theme of chosenness of Israel in the Old Testament and the new people of Israel chosen through the salvific mission of Jesus Christ.
